Our laboratory is accredited by the American Association of Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO). We follow all applicable American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) procedures.Our laboratory is under the technical supervision of a registered professional engineer.

GEOTECHNICAL SOILS TESTING

During the design phase of a project our engineers rely on accurate test data to support their engineering design decisions. With over thirty years experience, the Vann Engineering staff is thoroughly familiar with the diverse properties and characteristics of the local soils. CONSTRUCTION MATERIALS TESTING

The Vann Engineering laboratory provides essential information during the construction phase of a project. Quarried materials brought on-site such as Aggregate Base Course (ABC) are tested for specification conformance. Aggregate testing services include:

• Aggregate Gradation

• Sand Equivalent

• Specific Gravity

Asphalt concrete may be tested for gradation, or air voids to assure proper mix qualities. The maximum density of the AC mix can also be provided to a field inspector to help ensure adequate compaction during paving operations. Construction monitoring necessitates timely turnaround of accurate test data. The professionally staffed RGH laboratory can provide these services.
